About Me
Many years ago, before I decided to become a therapist, I read that psychotherapy is food for the soul. I knew from my own experience that I agreed with that statement, and that if I were to become a therapist it would be an important part of the work I'd like to do with clients. Now that I am a licensed marriage and family therapist, that statement only rings more true.
During my training I worked at a community counseling center, at a treatment center (PHP and IOP) for eating disorder treatment and recovery, and in a group practice. In addition to seeing individual clients, both adolescents and adults, I have facilitated a variety of process groups. Now, in my private practice, I combine the experiences I've had in each of these settings to create a therapy plan that is unique for you - based on where you are, where you've been, and where you want to go.
Recently, I have combined two of the most important things in my life - psychotherapy and music - to create a therapeutic music group. Music is a fantastic way to connect to our sensory and emotional experiences. When we use many aspect of ourselves in our recovery process, we have more opportunities to grow. Music is just one way to do this.
So, back to one of my main goals. As a therapist, I work hard to help you feel nourished, feel permission to nourish yourself, and to help you give and receive nourishment in your relationships.
